Tyarra Cacique Williams was a 19-year-old college student who was living with her grandmother in Greensboro, North Carolina.
On the 7th of January, 2016, Tyarra and her brother visited their mother at around 6pm. Later that same night, Tyarra’s boyfriend, Aaron, arrived and then he, Tyarra and her brother left to go to her grandmother’s house for dinner. After dinner, Aaron, Tyarra, her brother and grandmother all sat in the living room relaxing. Tyarra suddenly got up, said she had to go and meet her friend Travis, and that she would be back in about an hour.
Tyarra has not been seen or heard from since then.
“Travis” was revealed to be a false name for Tyarra’s ex-boyfriend, whose real name has not been released to the public. He said that he and Tyarra chatted in his car for around 30mins before she left and started to walk back to her grandmother’s house. Tyarra’s family tried to call her multiple times, but her phone went straight to voicemail.
A few days after Tyarra had disappeared, the police received an anonymous tip that Tyarra’s body was in a trailer lot across the street from her grandmother’s house. Cadaver dogs were brought in, and a search of the area was conducted but nothing was ever found.
In April 2016, Tyarra’s mother received a Facebook message from a waitress at a Waffle House located in Jesup, Georgia which is around 400 miles away from Greensboro. The waitress said that she had a regular customer, who would come in multiple times a week with a group of people, who she believed was Tyarra. The waitress said that the person who she thought was Tyarra always seemed uncomfortable.
Tyarra’s grandfather, Darrell, went down to Jesup to scope out the Waffle House where the group had been sighted. However, the group never showed up again. Darrell then started to put up flyers of Tyarra and went to nearby hotels asking if anyone had seen her or recognised her photo. One of the hotel managers said that they recognised Tyarra, and said that he saw her in a group of girls with a pimp.
The police then went into the hotel and managed to arrest the pimp, but Tyarra was not with the group of girls.
It is strongly believed that Tyarra was sold into a different human trafficking ring, but her current whereabouts are unknown.
Tyarra is described as being a black 19-year-old female weighing 120lbs and standing at 5″5′. She has brown eyes, dark brown hair, a nose piercing, a burn scar on the right wrist and both ears pierced. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, dark blue Levi jeans, white Jordan sneakers with blue and green trim, a black jacket, and a blue knit cap and she had a nose stud in her nose. She was also carrying a “North Face” backpack.
If Tyarra is still alive today, she would be 26 years old.
